Photography has always been my passion.  Capturing the heart of a moment, the enigma of a stormy sky, the details of a day, the warmth of a smile, or simply a unique perspective of the world inspires me.

Along with my passion for photography came my joy for framing.  I've always loved it.  I love the detail and attention put into creating the perfect frame to compliment and enhance each unique piece of art.

I also find great joy shooting weddings and capturing treasured memories. Please contact me if you have a wedding or event coming up and are looking for the right photographer. I may be her!

Through my recent work over the past 8 years with Peggy Willenbeg as the "Twister Sisters", my severe weather images have been published world-wide. Publications include Cosmopoliton, Outside Magazine, Weatherwise, The Journal of Meteorology, "Restless Skies" by Paul Douglas, TakeGreatPhotos.com and more.  My severe weather videography & photography has also been featured on 2 National Geographic Television documentaries, WE TV Series "Twister Sisters", Entertainment Tonight, Good Morning America, Anderson Cooper, Jay Leno, FOX news, NBC news, ABC news and CBS news.

My background includes a B.S. in Chemistry & Biomedical Science with additional studies in Photography, Meteorology and Aviation.  In my adult life I have worked as a severe weather Photographer/ Videographer for FOX 9 News in Minneapolis, a Portrait Photographer for Sports Star Photography, a Freelance Photographer, a Framer, a Training Manager and a Chemist.

I have always been passionate about art, working with wood and using my hands so Framing turned out to be the perfect fit.  I enjoy the creative challenge of building that special custom frame made specifically for each valuable piece.

Previous to framing, I owned and operated a wood working shop for 10 years with a focus on repairing and refurbishing priceless antiques.  Work included 16th & 17th century items, armoires, tables, chairs, hall trees, frames, pie safes, chests and more.

I also worked for several years as an airbrush artist, painting murals for restaurants and clubs in the New Orleans area.  Murals included replications of Remington, Charles M. Russell, Western Scenes and many of my own creations.

In addition to wood working and airbrush painting I have a love for graphite drawing.  I especially enjoy drawing human and fantasy figures.

In addition to my art background, I earned a B.S. in Medical Biology with additional studies in Art and Marine Biology.  I worked for many years as a Chemist, Lab Manager and Instrument Service Specialist, building and repairing specialized instrumentation in chemistry and medical laboratories.

I moved to Minnesota to be with my soul mate, Melanie.  We recently decided to follow our dreams and passions which brought us to Telluride to own and operate Gallerie Framing and Photography.  We are excited to be here and absolutely love the land and the community.  Please stop in and say hi!

Snowboarding and Surfing are my other two passions.
