Melanie Metz is an award winning, versatile photographer with 20 years of experience. In 2007 and 2008 Melanie was featured on a reality TV series called, “Twister Sisters”, for her work with partner Peggy Willenberg chasing and photographing severe weather. Melanie’s work has been featured in numerous publications including Outside Magazine and Cosmopolitan. She has been interviewed on Good Morning America, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Entertainment Tonight as well as being involved with two documentaries for The National Geographic Channel.
Since moving to Telluride in April of 2010, her journalistic portrait shot won the first annual "Telluride Hot Shot" photo contest and she has done several local shoots for Telluride residents and businesses. Her clients include Diana Ries Designs, Telluride Medical Center, Heart of Telluride Properties and various local artists. Metz also assisted Kathleen Norris Cook in the field for a three day photography workshop during the Telluride Photography Festival.
All images are shot using Nikon digital SLR equipment including flash as needed. Natural lighting is preferred for outdoor shoots. Portrait studio lighting is available in the studio or on location.
